As a Platinum Delivery partner of Informatica Data Governance and the first partner to deploy CDGC, Incept has developed a complete course to onboard and train your data stakeholders.

Four versions for four personas

  • Beginner, and most common role

  • Otherwise known as Data Management Leader, this role is intermediate, with access to more features.

  • This is the most advanced business role, and the most detailed and complete version of the course.

  • Also advanced, this role is typically under the CDO or IT Data Management

Beginner

  • Gives context and presents the need and value of CDGC

  • Know the basics (what is a catalog, what are the assets, what is technical vs. business, what is metadata vs. data)

Intermediate

  • Explains all the capabilities required to do more than just search or explore.

  • Technical assets are files, data elements, and data containers that the Metadata Command Center administrator must configure the catalog source for the asset source systems and extract the metadata from the systems. If an existing catalog source is deleted from Metadata Command Center, the technical assets for the catalog source will not appear in the browse or search results of Data Governance and Catalog. You can use technical assets to create a data catalog or view data on which Metadata Command Center has performed profiling and classification tasks.

  • Data classification is the process of identifying the semantics of data elements, entities, and policies in a data container. The Metadata Command Center data classification service applies classification to the elements or entities based on the metadata extracted from source systems and the facts collected as the result of data profiling.

  • You can participate in workflows if you are a stakeholder for an asset. The organization administrator must provide you the relevant permissions for an asset so that you can create or modify an asset and approve or reject a workflow request.

Advanced

  • Explains all the advanced capabilities you have seen yet

  • You can allow the curation of Glossary terms and data classification that appear as intelligent suggestions in Data Governance and Catalog.

  • How to create and configure workflows to collaborate with other stakeholders to create or modify assets. Use a predefined workflow to involve approvers who can verify modifications to an asset before the asset is published. Use a ticket to track the workflow so that all stakeholders are notified of the status of the asset.

  • Metadata Command Center is a metadata management application for the Cloud platform and a one-stop solution for administrators, data stewards, model developers and evaluators. With Metadata Command Center, you can extract, store, and enrich metadata from diverse source systems in your organization.

  • You can enrich the technical assets that appear from Metadata Command Center with metadata and relationships that you can use for governance. Provide business friendly data set representations and business glossary associations so that you can quickly identify them within the catalog assets.

  • A ticket is an object in Data Governance and Catalog that tracks the workflow for a particular asset. Create a ticket for an asset to provide a controlled and audited change approval process using a workflow.
